Centre for Mental Health and Counseling Services – Nepal (CMCS-Nepal) is found by a multidisciplinary team of clinical psychologist, psychologists, psychiatrist, management & development experts with their extensive hands-on-experiences, nationally and internationally.
Centre for Mental Health and Counseling Services – Nepal (CMCS – Nepal) is a registered organization by complying with the rules and regulation of the Government of Nepal.
It provides consultation services for psychological wellbeing by providing psychiatric and counseling services and training services in connection with organizational development, human resource solutions, research and evaluation of mental health activities/ services, entailing with designing and producing IEC materials, print and audio-visual and business collateral documents.
CMCS-Nepal is a sister organization of CMC-Nepal, a national level mental health NGO working in Nepal since 2003.
The multidisciplinary team of CMCS-Nepal with their hands-on experiences have been extensively involved in delivery of mental health services, psychosocial counseling, and psychological assessment services to clients including government health facilities (hospital, schools), private and public organizations, banks & commercial houses, NGOs, diplomatic & UN agencies, missionary organizations, and private organizations.
They work to strengthen and develop new avenues for working with government and non-government agencies for the promotion and development of psychiatric, psychological, and psychosocial counseling services.

The core team is actively working in consulting services in mental health and counselling connecting it to organizational development, human resource solutions, research and evaluation of organizations. This has created an avenue for providing mental health and psychosocial services in the market targeting private sectors, NGOs and individuals. It has also been organizing training in mental health and psychosocial counseling.
The team at CMCS-Nepal has also been providing services in developing training manual / packages and producing IEC materials; print and audio-visual; and business collateral documents. It is involved with human resource development including process development in recruitment and organizational framework.
CMCS – Nepal’s core expertise is in the mental health and counselling. It has been successfully providing clinical and counseling services to individuals and groups. The services are related to psychological disorders due to stress, social and economic problems, distress, disaster, family and gender-based violence, discrimination etc.
The team is also actively engaged in designing and delivering training in psychosocial counseling and mental health. Presently its core team members are engaged in providing Psychological First Aid and individual counseling services to different organizations, including World Vision International Nepal and Save the Children Nepal. CMCS – Nepal has also provided its consulting services to Save the Children Nepal in mental health and psychosocial counseling services for developing & designing training & reference materials and conducting training, including to its partner organizations.
Similarly, the team is also working in gender-based violence (GBVPR) program since 2016, with the funding assistance of UNFPA/SDC which is being implemented by CMC–Nepal in partnership with UNFPA and its partner organizations in Okhaldhunga, Sindhuli and Udayapur districts. In 2017 534 GBV survivors benefitted from those One Stop Crisis Management Centres (OCMC). Technically supported and supervised survivors were identified which increased to 979 cases in 2019 who are still benefiting with the services being provided in the three OCMCs through CMC–Nepal trained workers. As CMC–Nepal is slowly transferring its mental health and psychosocial services (MHPS) to CMCS–Nepal to sustain and continue the services by abiding by the GoN rules and regulations. It ensures the availability of excellent quality services for the needy ones.
